Highway Department The Highway Department's primary responsibility is the maintenance, construction, and repair of approximately 150 miles of public roadways. Ongoing department programs include: General roadway maintenance (including pothole repair and pavement markings) Pavement resurfacing Crack sealing Catch basin installation, repair, and cleaning Sign fabrication, installation, and repair Fleet maintenance Guardrail replacement and maintenance Roadside mowing, brushing, and pruning Maintenance and repair of numerous Town-owned paved and gravel parking lots Gravel and dirt road maintenance Street sweeping Snow and ice removal
